Sony Versus Samsung: Which Android Tablet is the Best?

Although Apple's iPad is still the top choice for tablets, with as much as 95 percent of the market share, there's no stopping Android-powered tablets from taking a slice in the cool gadgets competition. Multitaskers are amazed at how Android-based tablets provide them the functionality they need, all while staying among the most affordable gadgets in town. These new gadgets boast of a long list of Google apps that are excellent for app addicts, web browser for Flash sites, and the Android market that lets you download virtually every app that comes on your mind. From Asus and Toshiba to Acer and Dell, there are so many tabs to choose from, you'll really get dizzy just to think of checking one brand after another to get the best deals.

Sony and Samsung launched their latest offerings of cool gadgets to corner the stiff tablet market. Sony was the first to launched in Android 3.1-powered tablet, the Sony Tablet S, followed by Samsung's Galaxy Tab 6.1.

Sony Tablet S

Sony's latest tablet measures 9.4 inches and it comes in a sleek image. Compared to other tablets, it is not flat but rather features a curved lip that folds down on one side of the gadget, which will make you really love this feature because it makes the tablet lighter and more convenient. It is also easier to get hold of the device because of its perforated finish at the back. For more convenience while typing, rest it on the table then fold the tablet so it is easier and more convenient for you to use the onscreen keyboard. With all these unique features you don't normally see from other tablets, the Sony S Tablet is a great buy. It is well designed and comes with exclusive Sony apps that makes this gadget desirable. Sony Tablet S is also an affordable gadget

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Compared to the iPad family, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a wider screen that measures 10.1. But the good thing with these cool gadgets is that they don't carry on that much weight and it is thinner than the latest iPad offering. With 1280 x 800 resolution, the Galaxy tab beats iPad once again in the resolution game. Enjoying games, songs, and even movies is also way better and louder than iPad because the Galaxy has this built-in stereo speaker on either side. However, Samsung's battery life only lasts for up to 10 hours, shorter than the S tablet or iPad 2. The process and memory stand at par with that of iPad's, but when it comes to storage, you can only choose between 16 and 32 gigabyte models.

Summary

It is actually difficult to decide as to which among the S Tablet and Galaxy Tab is better, but clearly, these two top the best in the Android choices. While Sony doesn't have a USB cable and HDMI support, it still boasts of sleek design and software adds-on. While the Galaxy tab seems to iPad's copycat, still it looks and works better. For sale at the same price, ($500 for 16GB model and $600 for 32 GB model), it is pretty hard to choose among the two, so it's up to your personal preferences which cool gadgets to choose.
